This study presents the results of a survey of EU refineries waste types production, their sources and management options, with focus on oily sludges and a sustainability assessment of selected traditional versus emerging treatment options for oily sludges wastes.

The report by AFRY, commissioned by Concawe, evaluates the biodiversity impacts of removing forest residues for advanced biofuel in Europe. It highlights the ecological importance of deadwood, regional variations in biodiversity thresholds, and the need for tailored, science-based guidelines to inform sustainable residue removal practices.

This tool allows users to define scenarios in a user-friendly way and quickly visualise the NO2-concentrations at measurement stations and in over 900 cities.
